Woodlot Trail

This hiking/biking trail can be accessed from the bottom at the second corner of Peter's Rd in Crawford Bay. You can hike (or ride) up and connect to the Fraser Hill VP Trail which by - passes the hardest parts of the trail and gives you the option of connecting to the rest of the peninsula or remaining on the VP trail for a shorter adventure with many viewpoints.

Mountain bikers may want to drop a vehicle at the bottom of the Woodlot Trail and take another vehicle (or ride) up Pilot Point FSR where on your first right you will turn down the North Spur road. The gravel forestry service road flattens out a bit and you travel another 600 meters to a fork in the road, stay left and travel another 800 meters up to the next junction. Go straight at the "height of land" sign and travel up another 1.3 kms to the trailhead. Turn right and head north up the William Fraser Trail  on the main map. It's a great single track with a series of ups and downs. After 1.1 kms you will get to a viewpoint where you can see Ainsworth Hot Springs and beyond. From there it's downhill all the way to another junction where you start the Woodlot trail going east (or continue north on the William Fraser Trail to HWY 3A). The original Woodlot Trail has very technical rock and root sections but there's the easier Fraser Hill VP Trail bypass with more access options. Just a quick descent for 1.5 kms and you are back out on Peters Road.
The loop takes about 1.5 hours depending on how long it takes you to get up Peters Road. The Woodlot Trail a moderate to hard trail with lot's of pedaling and very challenging when wet.
