Eastside and East Shore Trails

The Eastside trail can be part of a 7km counter clockwise loop which begins with the Boomers Landing, Upper Levels and East / West trail. The Eastside trail then returns you via the East Shore Trail to the Pilot Point FSR and the trail hub. You can also park at the East Shore trailhead located 3km up Pilot Point FSR and descend to the Eastside Trail which takes you to the east side of the peninsula and offers a lovely viewpoint of Crawford Bay and the Gray Creek Pass. You can return from here or continue south through old growth forests, various forest ponds and interesting rock outcroppings where you will eventually arrive at the East / West trail. In recent history there was an option to continue to Cortiana trail here however due to land use changes we no longer advise this using this unless you know the landowner or have an emergency. These trails have not been designated for mountain biking due to general trail design that doesn’t make for the best cycling experience.

We acknowledge that the recreation trails which we enjoy are the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa First Nation. We honour their connection to the land, lakes and rivers and respect the importance of caring for our shared environment.
