Fraser Hill Viewpoint

The network of multi use trails on the northern part of the Crawford Peninsula offers quick access to some beautiful viewpoints. While most mountain bikers will approach from the southern part of the Height of Land and William Fraser trails, the area can be accessed from either the Woodlot Trail on Peters Rd or from the north end of the William Fraser Trail under the powerlines below the YRB yard on HWY 3A. Hikers however, can enjoy a 90 min climb from Peters Rd. to the top of the Woodlot and Fraser Hill Viewpoint trails for a brilliant view of Kokanee Glacier. Options for return include the complete Woodlot trail which features a lot of roots, seasonal water features and a bridge. This is designated black diamond (expert) trail for mountain bikers. The top of the Woodlot Trail connects to the William Fraser Trail with an option to continue on to the southern peninsula trails or to a shorter segment north to HWY 3A.

We acknowledge that the recreation trails which we enjoy are the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa First Nation. We honour their connection to the land, lakes and rivers and respect the importance of caring for our shared environment.
